Location: Porthpean Golf Club Photographer: Rowena Castillo Nicholls It has been a busy Club Meeting this evening! But, enjoyable as always. We had 3 guests: 1) Alice Moore, a weaver, a second year Textiles and Design student at the Falmouth University was given a bursary of £300 cheque from past club presidents Angela and Mary. She brought some of her gorgeous designs to show us. 2) Lois Wild, Volunteer Coordinator at Saint Petroc's Society was given a cheque of £257.00 raised at the dessert and coffee evening. She's also taking with her some various knitted garments which will be given to homeless people. 3) Maggie Parks, Chief Executive of the Women's Centre Cornwall gave a talk on "Mental Health Awareness". The Mental Health Awareness Week starts every year on the second Monday in May – in 2019 from 13 – 19 May. She was given a batch of towels to be used in the complimentary therapy unit where various healing therapies are used to help reduce the impact of trauma on the body, mind and spirit. This evening was also the "Badging" of new member, Diane Walker.
