Penhale has a very rich and diverse flora and fauna. There are loads of rare species found on this place. This is a habitat and foraging ground of the Cornish Choughs and Butterflies on the Red List. I have been birdwatching and butterfly watching here for more than a decade.

Cornish Choughs Paloresow Kernewek
Cornish Chough, national bird of Cornwall. The Chough appears on Cornwall’s coat of arms along with 2 other important figures in Cornwall’s historic heritage – the miner and the fisherman. They also appear in Cornish folklore with stories that surround King Arthur. The Chough is afforded the highest degree of legal protection under the Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
