I was born in the Philippines to Leon and Angelita, both retired government educators. I finished a Bachelor’s Degree in "Doctor of Dental Medicine" at the Manila Central University. I have a brother Russel, finished a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a sister Rachel, finished a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioural Science. I have two smart and adorable nephew, Gabriel Angelo and Miguel Angelo. I am married to the great one, Rob Nicholls.
I came to Cornwall to live in 2009. In that short span of time, “I have already seen almost every corner of the spectacular and picturesque countryside of Cornwall which I have come to love, especially its diverse nature and wildlife. I go walking, bird-watching, butterfly-watching, rock-pooling, and beach cleaning as much as I can and that’s what got me inspired in setting-up Connect with Nature”.
I am the founder and chair of Connect with Nature. I organise and lead a monthly Bird-watching Fieldtrips at Mevagissey Harbour in St Austell (2nd Sunday), Ruan Lanihorne on the Roseland Peninsula (3rd Sunday), and Towan Head in Newquay (4th Sunday). I organise and lead Butterfly-watching Fieldtrips and Moth Trapping Evenings at various locations in Cornwall in spring and summer. I do Wildlife Recording and Monitoring at Woodland Valley Farm, Trewithen Garden, Lanjeth Nursery and Water Garden, and others. I give Talks and Presentations on “A Decade of Chough Watching”, “Butterflies in Cornwall”, and “Connect with Nature because it benefits both our physical wellbeing and mental health” to various organisations and groups. Every year, I give-away Butterfly Education Kits to various Primary Schools in Cornwall to raise awareness on the importance of butterflies in our ecosystem and their fascinating life cycle. I do Beach Cleans and Litter-pickings at various beaches in Cornwall. I raise awareness on the importance of wildlife through Wildlife Matters. And most of all, I raise awareness on the importance of Connect with Nature because it benefits both our physical wellbeing and mental health. All my events are free. It's fully-funded by me. Everyone is welcome to attend.
